MET GALA 2015 “China: Through the Looking Glass”
The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala was a jaw-dropping event that stirred up a great amount of talk. With the theme of “China: Through the Looking Glass,” celebrities came in with unbelievable gowns that were impossible to stop staring at. The costumes this year seemed to particularly show a lot of skin and jeweled embroidery. It was the one event everyone decided to be bold and risky at. Take a look at Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Lopez because they definitely did not disappoint. The trio looked over the top sexy showing off their curves!
Unlike these girls, one person left us a little less than impressed when it came to fusing the Chinese theme with her outfit. It was Sarah Jessica Parker (I know right?!) The only thing hot that the usual fashionista definitely could have eliminated was the flaming head dress. She could have replaced it with a bold piece of jewelry instead, like our golden dragon necklace.

Last but not least…..Rihanna. WOW! Now that is how you make an entrance. She did an amazing job applying her dress to the theme and really did her research. She repesected the Chinese theme of the Gala, introducing Chinese designer Guo Pei to Western culture. Round of applause to Rihanna.
“I’m so in love with this dress, but the train is insane!” Rihanna told VF.com on the red carpet. “I can’t really walk in it without any help. But it’s so worth it. I love this dress so much! It’s Chinese couture and it’s made by Guo Pei. It’s handmade by one Chinese woman and it took her two years to make. I found it online.”
