The Fun of Cocktail Parties and Jewelry

Let’s face it. Some women start with the dress, some the shoes and some the jewelry. Wherever we start, we just want to do it with style.

Cocktail parties are great fun this time of year because a lot of sparkle and color is de rigueur. The Holiday season is a time of good cheer, gratitude, taking stock of one’s family and fabulous co-workers and having fun shopping for others we love. It’s a happy time of year.

Dressing up for cocktail parties is part of it all. For the neighborhood not-too-dressy party, we suggest these possible combos: A metallic skirt, a loose casual blouse and of course great jewelry from Rock of Eden.

What is style? We say it’s the originality of putting things together in a slightly unexpected way that looks effortless and in fact is. Outfits that are too matchy-matchy or fussy look dated.

For the more formal, work or in-law cocktail party, the black sequin black dress or winter white dress is a must. We love our French Art Deco bracelet with either of these.

For the winter white dress we suggest:

Gold Fringe Bracelet

White/Rhinestone, Vintage Purse

Generally speaking, and we hate to admit this, but the rule is put on all the accessories then edit. Yes, remove one. So that typically means, earrings, necklace, bracelet(s) (stacking bracelets count as one), statement ring – remove one. It works every time. Less is more even with jewelry.
