Jewelry Texture: The beauty of hand hammered metal

At Rock of Eden we are inclined to go for matte finishes (not shiny) and hand hammered finishes. With modern jewelry these finishes yield a more classic, timeless feel. Hammered finishes that are well done (tight, consistent hammering throughout the piece) have an old world feeling to them yet are also fresh.

For those of us who like to mix in an antique or two it also allows the two periods of modern and antique to flow together easily. For example, in the photo below, Nikki is wearing a contemporary mesh bracelet with diamonds with a black rhodium spike bracelet and a vintage enamel bracelet– and it all works to create a great, interesting look.

If you like the hammered metal you’re in luck- we are doing a giveaway for two skinny hand hammered cuff bracelets in partnership with Amy Roseveare of fashionjewelrytips.com. She is an award winning personal stylist who guest blogged for us September 9.
